With an exclusive style of his own, Arlington Jones creates a work of art every time he touches the piano. He designs a musical canvas with strokes of creativity and beauty. Arlington has the gift to take listeners of all ages on an unforgettable journey because of his high-spirited, unpredictable melodies and arrangements! Not only is he pleasing to listen to but also exhilarating to watch! Right through each note, Arlington exudes energy from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet!

Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1973, Arlington moved to Dallas with his parents in the late 70s. He began studying piano at age eight, started playing in church, and took drum lessons as well. His extraordinary talent and great passion for music soon blossomed. Watching him play now, no one could guess that he told his parents he wanted to stop taking lessons after the first week! However, with encouragement, he persisted. Arlington went on to receive a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in music, composition, arranging, performance, theory, and jazz studies. He expresses, “When I began taking piano lessons, I never imagined music would affect me in the way that it has. Playing music has become my destiny, my responsibility, my aspiration.”

Over the years, Arlington has distinguished himself as a successful independent artist, pianist, composer, and producer under his label, Zamaria Records. He formed The Arlington Jones Trio in 1998. He has released three recordings: The Author And The Source , Move The Heart , and Arlington Jones Solo Sessions: Peace That Passes All Understanding . His storybook tunes balance a gumbo mixture of jazz, funk, Latin, and swing from a Christian perspective.

Arlington's main jazz music influences are Oscar Peterson and Duke Ellington. He has shared the stage with a colorful list of musicians such as David “Fathead” Newman, Red Holloway, and Frank Foster. He has been the keyboard player for Wayman Tisdale since 2001. In summer 2006, he toured with the Rendezvous All Stars featuring Wayman Tisdale, Kirk Whalum, Jonathan Butler, and Brian Simpson.

Between tour dates, Arlington serves as a music professor at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas. Touring provides a constant and fresh outlook on the music industry and helps him relate to his students. He is also involved in music organizations that sponsor community events to help promote jazz appreciation. Periodically, he educates youth through music clinics to heighten their awareness for music theory and jazz history. His contributions have led to great awards and acknowledgements – Excellence In Teaching Award in 2001 from Cedar Valley College, Sammons Jazz Artist of The Year in 2002, and a Proclamation from State of Texas Senator Royce West in 2006.

Arlington wrote a book of piano duets, At Play , published by Neil A. Kjos Music Company in 2002. Currently, he is working with Kjos to publish a new book that will feature three of his solo piano pieces.

Most importantly, Arlington is devoted to creating music that will speak to the hearts of people around the world – music that will evoke joy, hope, faith, peace, healing, and love for all generations!

Arlington, and his wife, Hope have a daughter, Christian, and a son, Arlington III. He and his family live in Arlington, Texas.
